SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Making an Appropriation for Santa Fe County to Contract for Services to Convert Paper
Documents to Digital Documents
House Bill 474 appropriates $300.0 to the Local Government Division, Department of Finance
and Administration to reimburse Santa Fe County for contractual services to convert paper
documents to digital records.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $300.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to the
General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The appropriation is to be used for older records only. Santa Fe County has records dating back
to 1840 that are currently stored in the basement of the county courthouse. The County proposes
