SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 414 appropriates $800,000 from the General Fund to the Board of Regents of New
Mexico Highlands University for expenditure in FY 2008 to fund the Northeastern New Mexico
Regional Economic Development Center.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $800,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY 2008 shall revert to the
General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The Economic Development Center at NMHU was created under the School of Business
Administration with funding from the Department of Commerce Economic Development
