HONORING BRIAN KEITH URLACHER, MIDDLE LINEBACKER OF THE
CHICAGO BEARS AND FORMER UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO AND
LOVINGTON HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL STAR.
WHEREAS, Brian Urlacher, "monster of the midway",
captured the attention and the hearts of many a New Mexican as
he entered the national football league's biggest game, super
bowl forty-one in 2007; and
WHEREAS, Brian Urlacher was national football league
defensive player of the year in 2006; and
WHEREAS, New Mexicans invest their pride in the great
"Url" and his feats on the field and especially appreciate his
enthusiastic recognition of his New Mexico roots; and
WHEREAS, Brian Urlacher, admired and respected at his
alma mater Lovington high school when he led the wildcats to a
1995 class 3A championship, became a full-fledged hero after
donating forty thousand dollars ($40,000) for the Lovington
high school weight room and agreed to provide shoes for all
Lovington varsity players; and
WHEREAS, Brian Urlacher has returned his fame and
fortune to New Mexico through a one-million-dollar
($1,000,000) indoor practice facility at the university of New
Mexico; and
WHEREAS, Brian Urlacher has returned to participate in
