AN ACT

RELATING TO PUBLIC HOLIDAYS; CREATING FIREFIGHTER DAY OF

REMEMBRANCE ON SEPTEMBER 11.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. A new section of Chapter 12, Article 5 NMSA

1978 is enacted to read:

"FIREFIGHTER DAY OF REMEMBRANCE.--September 11 of each

year shall be set apart and known as "Firefighter Day of

Remembrance", celebrating the important, brave and

compassionate work of firefighters and honoring all

firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty."
