AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE AUDITOR FOR OPERATIONAL EXPANSION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the state auditor for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for the following purposes:
(1) one hundred twelve thousand dollars ($112,000) to hire two full-time-equivalent criminal investigators for fraud and special audits;
(2) two hundred thirty-eight thousand two hundred dollars ($238,200) to hire two full-time-equivalent audit managers;
(3) two hundred ten thousand one hundred dollars ($210,100) to hire two full-time-equivalent audit supervisors; and
(4) seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) to open a satellite office in Albuquerque.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
