AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A READING PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS CONDUCTED BY LUNA COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for Luna community college to develop and implement a "cross roads academy" program that offers developmental reading to high school sophomores at Mora high school, Springer high school and Santa Rosa high school. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
