AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR MATCHING FUNDS FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO AND NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY TO PROVIDE RETENTION AND MARKET COMPETITIVENESS FOR COACHES WHO CONDUCT PROGRAMS FOR STUDENT ATHLETES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to be matched by other funds of the university to provide for retention and market competitiveness for head coaches who conduct programs with student athletes who are successful students, athletes and citizens. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.

          B.
