AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A STUDY OF THE ACEQUIA CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM OF THE INTERSTATE STREAM COMMISSION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for the acequia commission for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to coordinate a task force including the acequia association, the natural resources conservation service, the army corps of engineers, the New Mexico association of conservation districts and the interstate stream commission to study the acequia construction program of the interstate stream commission and make recommendations to the legislature. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
