AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRIES DIVISION OF THE REGULATION AND LICENSING DEPARTMENT TO DEVELOP NEW BUILDING CODE PROVISIONS FOR ENERGY-EFFICIENT BUILDINGS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the construction industries division of the regulation and licensing department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to convene stakeholders for development of new building code provisions and to train contractors and inspectors in best practices for energy-efficient building construction with the goal of achieving carbon-neutrality by 2030. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
