AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO IMPROVE SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP IN NORTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to improve science scholarship in northeastern New Mexico middle and high schools through a nonprofit program that works in cooperation with Luna community college, New Mexico highlands university, united world college and the northern New Mexico school network. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
