AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR EXPANDED IMMUNIZATION AGAINST INFLUENZA; PROVIDING FOR A PURCHASING PREFERENCE FOR INFLUENZA VACCINE NOT PRESERVED WITH THIMEROSAL.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to purchase additional influenza vaccines to immunize more New Mexicans in accordance with recommendations from the federal centers for disease control and prevention. Preference for purchasing vaccines shall be given to vaccines that are not preserved with thimerosal. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
