AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AN OUT-OF-SCHOOL SUSPENSION ALTERNATIVE PILOT PROGRAM IN VALENCIA COUNTY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to implement a pilot program in Valencia county that will provide an alternative to out-of-school suspensions. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
