AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PROVIDING A SAFE RIDE HOME FROM AREA BARS AND NIGHTCLUBS NEAR NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to establish and administer a program providing a safe ride home for students at area bars and nightclubs near the university. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
