AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR BIOMASS ENERGY RESEARCH.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million seventy-eight thousand dollars ($1,078,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to contract for research on the potential development of biomass as an energy source. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
