AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE DISSEMINATION OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR AT-RISK HISPANIC YOUTH AND FAMILIES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to support statewide dissemination of a culturally based language arts and social science curriculum targeting at-risk Hispanic youth and their families, and training for teachers and community members in dropout prevention. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
