AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO SUPPORT THE CHICANO, HISPANO, MEXICANO STUDIES PROGRAM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty-four thousand dollars ($254,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for educational materials and to hire staff support and additional faculty for the Chicano, Hispano, Mexicano studies program at the university of New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
