AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO ALLIANCE FOR TRANSPORTATION INSTITUTE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to continue environmental and health research and demonstration projects, including those related to advancing knowledge of precautionary principles, sustainable development and healthy communities, by the alliance for transportation institute. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
