AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CREATE THE SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO CENTER FOR ENERGY STUDIES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to create a southeast New Mexico center for energy studies to be located in Lea county and managed as part of the geophysical research center. The purpose of the southeast New Mexico center for energy studies will be to review and analyze energy policy. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
