AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO INCREASE FUNDING OF CASE MANAGEMENT FOR VICTIMS OF RADIATION EXPOSURE TO RECEIVE BENEFITS DUE TO THEM PURSUANT TO THE FEDERAL RADIATION EXPOSURE COMPENSATION ACT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the Indian affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to provide case management services to victims of radiation exposure or their surviving families located in New Mexico so that they may access benefits due to them pursuant to the federal Radiation Exposure Compensation Act. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
