AN ACT

RELATING TO MILITARY AFFAIRS; PROVIDING FOR IN-SERVICE TRAINING FOR MEMBERS OF THE CIVIL AIR PATROL DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AFFAIRS; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. A new section of Chapter 20, Article 7 NMSA 1978 is enacted to read:

     "[NEW MATERIAL] IN-SERVICE TRAINING REQUIREMENT--CIVIL AIR PATROL DIVISION.--The director of the civil air patrol division of the department of military affairs shall develop and implement an in-service training program for members of the division in accordance with Section 20-7-3 NMSA 1978."

     Section 2. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the civil air patrol division of the department of military affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to develop and implement an in-service training program for members of the civil air patrol division. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
