FOR THE COURTS, CORRECTIONS AND JUSTICE COMMITTEE
AN ACT
MAKING APPROPRIATIONS TO REPLACE FEDERAL AND OTHER FUNDS FOR DRUG COURTS AND TO EXPAND AND CREATE DRUG COURTS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--
A. The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for the following purposes:
(1) two hundred ninety-six thousand eight hundred dollars ($296,800) to replace federal and other funds for juvenile drug courts in the twelfth and thirteenth judicial districts;
(2) five hundred twenty-six thousand six hundred dollars ($526,600) to expand family and adult drug courts in the eighth, eleventh and thirteenth judicial districts; for a DWI drug court in Eddy county; and for statewide program oversight staff at the administrative office of the courts; and
(3) five hundred twenty-six thousand six hundred dollars ($526,600) to create juvenile and adult drug courts in the seventh, eighth, eleventh and twelfth judicial districts; and for DWI drug courts in Quay and Valencia counties.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
