AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PRIMARY CARE RESIDENCIES IN SOUTHWESTERN NEW MEXICO.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred seventy-five thousand dollars ($175,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to provide training and related services for primary care residents in southwestern New Mexico in order to help rural communities recruit and retain physicians pursuant to the provisions of the Rural Primary Health Care Act. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
