AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO WESTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY FOR RECURRING ATHLETIC PROGRAM NEEDS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred twenty-seven thousand five hundred dollars ($427,500) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of western New Mexico university for expenditure in fiscal years 2008 and 2009 to fund increased travel expenses, conference commitments, staffing and equipment needs and gender equity requirements in athletic programs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
