FOR THE WATER AND NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE NON-NATIVE PHREATOPHYTE REMOVAL AND RIPARIAN RESTORATION AND FOREST HEALTH MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Ten million dollars ($10,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal years 2008 and 2009 for the soil and water conservation commission to manage and administer non-native phreatophyte removal and riparian restoration according to the non-native phreatophyte/watershed management plan program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
