    Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 86

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 5, line 6, strike "or".

    2. On page 5, line 8, strike the period and insert in lieu thereof ";or".

    3. On page 5, between lines 8 and 9, insert the following new paragraph:

             "(3) a retired member who is elected to serve a term as an elected official; provided that:

                  (a) the retired member files an irrevocable exemption from membership with the association within thirty days of taking office; and

                  (b) the irrevocable exemption shall be for the elected official's term of office.".

    4. On page 7, line 21, strike "retired".

    5. On page 7, line 21, after "who" insert "retire".

    6. On page 7, lines 21 and 22, strike "return to work". ,

and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
