AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR MEDICAL RESEARCH INVOLVING OUTPATIENT MEDICINE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred eighty-nine thousand dollars ($489,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for the New Mexico health sciences center to sustain and improve medical research involving outpatient medicine through continuing medical education, clinical research and outreach programs for rural clinicians and to support retention of clinicians in underserved areas. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
