AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A WATER RESOURCE ASSESSMENT COORDINATION CENTER AT NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for the bureau of geology and mineral resources to plan a process, develop a scope and budget for and schedule and draft legislation to establish a water resource assessment coordination center. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
