AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A PROGRAM TO PROVIDE STIPENDS FOR STUDENT INTERNS IN A BUILDING TRADES PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thirty thousand dollars ($230,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for the mid-region council of governments for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 and subsequent fiscal years to provide stipends to qualified student interns participating in a charter school building trades and technology program in Bernalillo county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
