AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR TUTORING PROGRAMS IN READING FOR NATIVE AMERICAN YOUNG ADULTS AND ADULTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to fund the adult basic education programs of New Mexico Indian nations, tribes and pueblos to provide additional tutoring in reading to Native American young adults and adults. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
