AN ACT
PROVIDING FIVE MILLION DOLLARS ($5,000,000) AS A CREDIT TO QWEST CUSTOMERS BY REFUSING TO APPROPRIATE MONEY IN A FUND EARMARKED FOR A SPECIFIC PROGRAM IN THE QWEST SETTLEMENT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. REFUSAL TO APPROPRIATE.--The legislature refuses to appropriate the five million dollars ($5,000,000) set aside in the settlement agreement between Qwest and the state and earmarked for a specific program if appropriated by the legislature. By not appropriating the money, according to the terms of the settlement agreement, the money will be credited to Qwest customers.
