AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR LUNA COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR STAFF AND FACULTY SALARY INCREASES TO ACHIEVE PARITY WITH OTHER NEW MEXICO COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for Luna community college to achieve staff and faculty salary parity with other New Mexico colleges and universities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
