HOUSE BILL 843

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

      1. On page 6, line 25, after "Act" insert the following:

", provided that, before adopting the resolution, the local school board shall consider, at a public meeting, requests by a charter school for funds needed for a lease purchase arrangement entered into by the charter school. If the local school board determines that the revenue from the proposed tax should also be used for the lease purchase arrangement entered into by the charter school, then, if the tax is approved in an election pursuant to Sections 8 through 12 of the Public School Lease Purchase Act, the local school board shall distribute an amount of the tax revenue, as established in its determination, to the charter school to be used in the lease purchase arrangement".

     2. On page 15, line 13, strike the colon and strike lines 14 through 22 and insert in lieu thereof the following:

"a governing body of a charter school shall not propose a tax or conduct an election pursuant to Sections 8 through 12 of that act, but nothing in this section prevents a charter school from receiving revenue from a tax proposed by the local school board for the district in which the charter school is located and approved by the voters."".,

and thence referred to the TAXATION AND REVENUE COMMITTEE.
