AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A CONSULTANT CONSERVATOR TO ASSESS THE INTERTRIBAL CEREMONIAL ASSOCIATION COLLECTION, DEVELOP A PRESERVATION PLAN AND PURCHASE EQUIPMENT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to hire a consultant conservator to assess the intertribal ceremonial association collection, develop a preservation plan and purchase equipment needed to conduct oral history interviews with persons associated with the intertribal ceremonial at Gallup. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
