AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR PROMOTION OF NEW MEXICO BY UNDERWRITING A CHAMPIONS TOUR GOLF TOURNAMENT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six million five hundred thousand dollars ($6,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the tourism department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 and subsequent fiscal years to promote New Mexico by providing funding to underwrite a professional golfers' association champions tour golf tournament to be held in the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
