Mr. Speaker:

    Your CONSUMER AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 588

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 1, line 13, after "PREMISES" insert "; ALLOWING LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO CARRY FIREARMS IN CERTAIN LICENSED LIQUOR ESTABLISHMENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE POLICIES OF THEIR EMPLOYER".

     2. On page 2, between lines 1 and 2, insert:

                "(2) by a law enforcement officer who is certified pursuant to the Law Enforcement Training Act acting in accordance with the policies of the officer's law enforcement agency; provided that the licensed establishment does not sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises;".

     3. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.,

and thence referred to the BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY COMMITTEE.
