    Your RULES COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 470

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 2, line 7, after the period, insert:

"The county clerk shall include in the notice a card informing the voter that if the voter does not want to receive an absentee ballot, the voter should return the card before the date the county clerk is scheduled to mail out absentee ballots.".

    2. On page 2, line 10, after the comma, insert "unless the voter has requested otherwise,".

    3. On page 2, line 11, strike the closing quotation mark and between lines 11 and 12, insert a new subsection to read:

         "D. The county clerk shall keep a sufficient number of ballots from a mail ballot election precinct such that if a voter from that precinct loses or does not receive an absentee ballot before election day, the voter may vote on an absentee ballot in the office of the county clerk on election day in lieu of voting on the missing ballot."".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
