AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO COMPLETE THE WATER RIGHTS ACQUISITIONS AND RETIREMENTS ON THE LOWER PECOS RIVER PURSUANT TO SECTION 72-1-2.4 NMSA 1978.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Thirty million dollars ($30,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal years 2008 through 2010 to complete water rights acquisitions and retirements pursuant to requirements of the lower Pecos river settlement in Section 72-1-2.4 NMSA 1978. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
