AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CULTURAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT FOR A STATEWIDE HUMANITIES PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the cultural affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to contract for a statewide public humanities program, which shall include a historical speaker program and traveling historical exhibitions as part of the program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
