AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THE STRENGTHENING FAMILIES INITIATIVE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to support the strengthening families initiative to reduce child abuse and neglect and prevent youth problem behavior. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
