AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE TOURISM DEPARTMENT FOR THE SCENIC BYWAYS PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the tourism department for expenditure in fiscal years 2008 and 2009 for the scenic byways program in the following amounts for the following purposes:

                (1) thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) to produce a brochure and map for the statewide network of scenic byways; and

                (2) two hundred seventy thousand dollars ($270,000) to award grants for scenic byway projects.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
