AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PUBLIC LIBRARIES TO EXPAND COLLECTIONS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($1,250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the cultural affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for the grants-in-aid to public libraries program in order to expand collections of books, electronic databases and other library materials. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
