AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING THROUGH THE CENTER FOR THE EDUCATION AND STUDY OF DIVERSE POPULATIONS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six hundred fifty thousand dollars ($650,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for the center for the education and study of diverse populations to provide technical assistance and training for schools and school districts, training in data-driven decision-making and data analysis, training in best practices for standards-based instruction and sheltered English instructional strategies. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
