AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NORTHERN NEW MEXICO STATE SCHOOL TO INCREASE ITS LIBRARY ACQUISITIONS TO COMPLY WITH ACCREDITATION STANDARDS AND TO ACHIEVE PARITY WITH OTHER INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING IN NEW MEXICO.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million three hundred thousand dollars ($2,300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of northern New Mexico state school for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to increase its library acquisitions to comply with accreditation standards of the higher learning commission of the north central association of colleges and schools and to achieve parity with other institutions of higher learning in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
