AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF A STATEWIDE HOME VISITING PROGRAM.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal years 2008 and 2009 to develop a statewide home visiting program, including creation of an agency coordinating council, a training program for home visitors, a marketing strategy and evaluation methods for the program and a home visiting pilot program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
