A MEMORIAL
DECLARING FEBRUARY 1, 2006 AS "ROLLING RAINFOREST DAY" AT THE SENATE.
WHEREAS, the rolling rainforest exhibit of Discovery Creek children's museum in Washington, D.C., depicts a rich environment that brings the sights, sounds and smells of a faraway rainforest to children to experience; and
WHEREAS, the flora and fauna come to life for children as they walk the trail of a rainforest and learn the important lessons that nature brings to our daily lives; and
WHEREAS, Discovery Creek children's museum has developed this one-of-a-kind exhibit to address the need for science education in public schools; and
WHEREAS, the rolling rainforest exhibit will be in New Mexico beginning on February 1, 2006;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 1, 2006 be declared "Rolling Rainforest Day" at the senate; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the Discovery Creek children's museum in Washington, D.C.
