A MEMORIAL
COMMENDING THE NEW MEXICO BEHAVIORAL HEALTH INSTITUTE AT LAS VEGAS FOR ITS ONE HUNDRED SEVENTEEN YEARS OF QUALITY CARE FOR THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH OF NEW MEXICANS AND OTHERS.
WHEREAS, the New Mexico behavioral health institute at Las Vegas was founded in 1889 and serves the psychiatric care needs of the entire state; and
WHEREAS, the institute is the largest facility within the department of health; and
WHEREAS, the institute works in collaboration with law enforcement, the judiciary, the children, youth and families department, adult protective services, other agencies and local governments; and
WHEREAS, the institute provides patient-specific care planning and adult psychiatric, forensic, long-term care, community-based and adolescent relationship services; and
WHEREAS, the institute has a highly qualified staff; and
WHEREAS, the institute has approximately one thousand employees and contributes forty-four million dollars ($44,000,000) to the local and state economy;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the New Mexico behavioral health institute at Las Vegas and its staff be commended for providing New Mexico for over a century with quality behavioral health services; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be sent to the New Mexico behavioral health institute at Las Vegas.
