if they are used for other purposes.

SUMMARY
Synopsis of Senate Joint Memorial
Senate Joint Memorial 19 requests PED study the procurement code and other applicable statutes
to determine how to best provide the required state match for school districts under the federal e-
rate program in order to ensure that public schools have affordable access to advances telecom-
munications.
SJM-19 further requests the department report its findings and recommendations to the LESC by
October 1, 2006.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The joint memorial requests a study to be completed by the department which will utilize some
resources; however the department will be able to absorb any costs associated with the study
within existing budget.
