SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 675 appropriates $100,000 from the general fund to the Board of Regents of New
Mexico Highlands University to support the athletics program.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $100,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert
to the general fund. These funds would augment a recurring appropriation of approximately
$1,375,000 provided in the General Appropriation Act for this purpose.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
NMHU submitted athletic program base adjustment ($246,100) and expansion ($186,000) re-
quests to HED. However, these proposals were not included in the HED fiscal year 2007 fund-
ing recommendations to the Legislature.
