SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 565 appropriates $1.2 million from the general fund to Board of Regents of New
Mexico State University for the Otero Soil and Water Conservation District to fund a hydro-
geologic study of the Sacramento Mountains, contingent upon the study being coordinated with
the Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources and the Office of the State Engineer (OSE).
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $1,200,000 contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the general
fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall
revert to the general fund.
It is noted that $47,500 was appropriated for this purpose through Laws 2005, Chapter 34 (Sen-
ate Bill 190).
