SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The 2006 World Peace Conference will be held September 22-24 in Santa Fe. The conference
will attract many visitors from around the world, including two Nobel Prize laureates who are
scheduled to speak. Tribal and spiritual leaders, legislators, as well as community and state dig-
nitaries will attend the conference to be held at the State Capitol. NMTD supports legislation
that promotes additional tourism to the state, and this conference is expected to generate signifi-
cant new visits to New Mexico.
